Digital scrapbooking!

What is digital scrapbooking? Well it's my new found hobby right now as I have to stay home most of the time..... :P
It's like the actual scrapbooking hobby around the market but instead of gumming and sticking and buying lotsa materials..... which is costly! So I suppose the cheapest way to portray my pictures more interestingly I chosen this scrapbooking technique using the computer to save cost and save the world....... more eco-friendly. :)
Here I have actually put up some of my digital scrapbook pages, so you can have an idea what it is all about. Oh... the thing is I use Photoshop to help out with all these pictures. Nice huh?

These two pages are about the Lourve Museum in Paris! Lots of fun with digital scrapbooking. I did one actual scrapbook with all the things I collect from my Paris trip in 2008, and it took me about one month to finish the product........ and I think digital ones are faster than the usual ones as you do not need to print out the pictures first!

Baby's so active!

Ohhh....... My baby's so active. Whenever she's hungry or upset about the meal or she feels unhappy about the sleeping position, she'll be kicking, turning, moving and stretching in the womb. No matter day or night, she will be restless. Oh I try to keep her stay still by talking to her and soothing her but no matter how she will not rest untill she gets what she wants! Hmm...
I wonder this is good or bad! But like they say, an active baby is a healthy one! :)

Into My Third Trimester... new hope!

Last few weeks I have been on a rollercoaster of events that makes me worry sick of my condition, but am glad it's over now.
I have been admitted to the hospital for some minor bleeding! I was worried sick for the sake of my baby. So the conclusion is I have been walking around too much and done some carrying of boxes around my house. Hmmm... I am suppose to stay on bed rest for at least two weeks before I could move around freely again. Guess from then onwards I am not suppose to do any work that put on too much stress to the body. In other words, I am being too active during pregnancy.
Well, now instead of doing some things like cleaning and packing stuff, I am suppose to just lying on the bed, watch stupid movie series, eat and sleep. Boring stuff...... indeed!
Am really getting sick of all this now...... and I have like so many weeks to go. Ah well... I am now walking more often although I get back ache after that, but I don't mind as long as I can go out of the house. I seldom go out much as I am not allow to drive yet; so I became more fairer each day!
Now am concentrating on doing some excercise that will ensure me an easy labour and also researching for my baby's name. I thought it would be easy but seems like it's not so. Hopefully ina few weeks time I'll manage to come up with a few options! LOL....

Am into Early Literacy Development....

Recently am attending workshops on early literacy......... hmm found an ad in the newspaper and so I thought I might try this out as I am now going to have my own child soon so some research to be done!
Am sharing here a bit about what I've learn so far. That is Phonological awareness based on the Montessori Methods. Basically this is apply to the English language, but it seems like Malay language and the Chinese language can also be taught in the similar way.
I've found out that Phonics helps a child to learn the alphabets and make them recognizes familiar words by pronouncing the correct sounds. In this way a child do not need to learn the spelling but can listen and spell correctly once they know the phonics well. But of course this does not mean that they understand every single meaning of the word; basically they are able to read, spell and pronounce correctly that's all. The meaning and knowledge of the word will come in later. Of course basic grammar are taught to form sentences as well.
Not to brag on about phonics... but overall what I've learn so far is that children must be expose to all different skills using their senses. Not only on study but also learn to play using their senses. Like using their eyes to visually see and being inspired.... ie colours, use their sense of smell, touch and feel different things and texture. Expose their tastes buds, eating and tasting different types of food. Let them listen to various sounds and music. All these are equally important to a child rather than just develop on the brain by pouring in all sorts of knowledge.
Research has shown that these days kids as young as a 3 year old are actually having nightmares about homework! Child psychologists are having patients with straight As! Come on, the adults are killing their kids with their own high hopes, what's wrong with them?!?
My only wish for my child is to learn the necessary basic skills and I'll let her just grow into whatever she wants to be. I strongly feels what I need to teach her is more of a moral value rather than being an A+ student.

My Babymoon

Oh just came back from my so-called babymoon. Actually one of my friend's wedding is held in KL. So I have decided to travel down to KL for a visit cum attending the wedding.
A lot of taboos about travelling during pregnancy, but as I believe if one is well prepared it's ok to travel. I travel by car to KL so my hubby and I decided to have a few stops during the journey. I have also prepared lots of water and food on board; some pillows for the comfort of sitting in the car and also some music to enjoy during the trip.
Well, the trip went well, and we also did some shopping and hanging around Ikea to get some ideas for the nursery. We also had some good grubs and manage to enjoy a movie each night... thanks to our laptop. Overall it's a nice trip and Baby did enjoy her stay too, I think! LOL.

Food craving...

Now in my belly grows a baby girl. So I do feel her all the time while sleeping, listening to music, watching movies...... etc. Well, I constantly feel that she's trying to communicate with me. LOL! I know I am hungry all the time and yet sometimes I do eat but just not enough!?!?? So baby will just signal me by kicking or making me feel nausea again so I know she's still hungry. In fact if she doesn't like something she'll do the same too. Othe'srwise, she's just sleeping and growing steadily inside my womb. How fascinating!
These days as Durian season is on its way......... my baby couldn't stop bugging me to take the durian and soya bean milk. Hmmm... she must love the taste of durian! :) Just like Mum and dad! Other types of food that she loves so far is Ramen, Char Koay Teow, Chicken but not KFC! and also some sweet cakes. That why I do make muffins for her! Hhehee.
So far so good, I hope I can eat more variety of food especially soupy stuff! Cheers.

Cocktail anyone?

Now, I am not very fond of drinking but occasional indulgence in some cocktails should be fine. I have manage to browse through the net for some gruesome cocktail recipes so I found a few that I like and easy to make. Hmmm...
If I'm in the mood, I'll always create a cocktail for my hubby to try and give some opinion about it. Since I don't have any idea what a cocktail will taste like, he
s been so far my guinea pig! but I doubt he complains! LOL!

Here's the recipe....
3/4 oz Pineapple Juice
3/4 oz Grand Marnier
1 1/2 oz Gin

Pour all in a shaker with ice and Shake then Strain into a cocktail glass. Viola!

Ooo... My Own Garden of Eden!

No one will ever guess what I manage to come out with during last couple of weeks. Ha! I've been indulge myself with some tinny bit of gardening. I really hope it brightens up my little apartment!

Well, this is one of my creation called "Bathtub Cutie". I am trying my luck here with planting as I am never good at it before. This is my first plant arrangement creation. Since I have bought a book about it, so it spikes up my enthusiasm. Awesome isn't it?

Er hem.... this was my second wonderful creation. I named it my "Teddy Box". Don't you just love those tiny plants that grow in a box! It is a indoor creation like the one before. I can keep this inside the house and admire it during dinner. I am placing next to my dining table!

Well, now this one is meant for outdoor. I have reuse a rattan basket to create this one. Lots of pebbles and stones with two cute little bird! Nice isn't it? I try to accomodate some tiny sculpture or cute features into my plant arrangement, in that way, it looks more interesting!

Now, finally this is my last creation at the moment. My little sweet garden with a flower fairy sitting by the side. I have also include a water feature in it. See the water running down and moving the wheeel? Marvelous right? I have plant some moss over the fake plastic rocks too! Now I really love my small little garden on my balcony!

Rubber Duck....

I have been so immensely excited about the idea of a Baby shower that lead me to search and look into "Rubber Duck". Oh suddenly I'm in love with it! So much so that I find although it is a common subject, but it is really hard to hunt down the rubber duck in my territory. I have indeed search high and low for this product and find it quite hard to get with cheaper price tag. Funny thing is that it is widely used as a "DIGI" ambassador but yet it's not like you can see it everywhere you go. Maybe only in poster and TV commercials that's all, the real thing couldn't be found anywhere near a toy store. Peculiar!
