Kusudama project

I have been doing some research on flower folding techniques and I found out about this Kusudama Flower ball which caught my attention. So I decided to give it a go myself by following the tutorial instructions, well not bad indeed right? The picture above shows only one flower with a combination of 5 petals. Ah Yes... this is a Sakura (Cherry Blossom flower).

Here the picture shows half of the flower ball, which has a total of 6 flowers. So if you want to create a flower ball it has to be a total of 12 flowers. Interesting huh! I use some origami folding paper and some recycle paper for this project. So now you can reuse your recycle paper for a decorative idea. Hurray for going GREEN!
If you would like to know how to fold this go check out the tutorial in this website:

Teddy Bed Sheet

My Lil' Bean is 7 Months old already and she has got a New Teddy Bear Bed Sheet! It's full of teddy bear and look so cute! This fabric is bought by grandma from a market and well mama got to make the bed sheet for baby. The pillow case and booster case is made by PorPor and it matches the bed sheet doesn't it! The complete set will come with Teddy bear Bumper... and mama has got to make it soon! :P

Bed Sheet!

I have been looking for alternatives of buying expensive baby cot bed sheet / fitted sheet; and it always comes together with bumper and blankets that I don't like. The motifs are either too colourful or just too not to my taste! And so, I decided to do-it-myself again!
Ironically, I went to the local fabric store "Kamdar" for a look and I have found 2 types of flowery designs that are suitable only. Since I have no other choice so I bought them and made the fitted sheets for the baby cot.
This one here is the pinkish one with less complicated design. Not bad huh!

Moo Moo Baby Sling (Part II)

I did promise to show you how I use my Moo Moo Sling... so here it is. Baby is a bit cranky at first when she's in it, but after a while she got use to it and felt comfortable in it. I guess I 'll have to practice to use it often so she can get use to the idea. LOL.

My Lovely Mini Book

Well, I have created a mini book for myself. It is a mini scrapbook that I can bring around anywhere I like in my bag. I have compile some photos of baby and me in this mini book so when I miss my baby I can browse through the pictures in this mini scrapbook. Brilliant right? Also if anyone wants to see what my baby look like this will be perfect and I don't need to bring my baby along. :)
So you see I still wanna go out sometime and not stay home all the time with baby. Too much sticking around with baby is not so good for her and me. If she becomes too clingy then I'll be in trouble. Alrighty... will update my mini book every now and then too as baby grow.

Baby's Huggy Pouch II

I promise to show you this larger version of huggy pouch... so here it is. As you can view from the picture; this larger version can wrap around baby's whole body across the chest or tummy area. This will give baby a more hugging feeling when she's sleeping. If the materials are made of felt or cashmere then it can double serve as a mini blanket too! As our weather here is so hot, although it is made of cotton, it is a mini blankie for my baby. LOL!

The Origami Mobile

It's been weeks that I wanted to buy a singing mobile for my baby and attach it to her cot; then again while searching for it... I find it either too expensive or some not to my taste. In the end, I made this myself for my little one. No music though just simple Origami Crane and Box. I have found some old Japanese colour origami rice paper and I bought a red and white wrapping paper to match it. Viola.... here's my hand-made origami mobile! It's lovely right? :)

Baby's Huggy Pouch I

Oh... I have been having back ache due to carrying my baby around till she sleeps. It's a bad habit and I'm trying to get rid of it. SO, I have come to a conclusion that I should make a Huggy Pouch for her. So this is my version of huggy pouch after consulting my mother and grandmother.
I sew this "Rice Huggy Pouch" for my little one to sample. As you can see, she love her favourite pose when she sleeps that is hands up all the time! Whenever there's a loud sound she might be awake and cry out loud so this pouch is useful in another way. And you know what it works pretty well. Phew! Now I don't have to carry her till she sleeps and she's sleeps well as if there's mommy's hand patting her all the time! Fantastic don't you think. This one I made it smaller and I have create another bigger one as well, will show it when it's done!

My LeSportsac Diaper Bag

Mum bought me a lovely LeSportsac bag to carry my baby stuff. The bag is huge enough to put in all things for baby. But it lacks of compartments to put the things in order, especially milk bottles. It will spill here and there if I were to put it in and look messy. So in order to organize it properly I have created my own version of portable elastic compartments that I can convert an ordinary bag into a diaper bag anytime; which is flexible and also easy to use. I am so proud of this Portable bottle holder which I can use it over and over again without damaging the original bag design. So if I do not want to use this bag as a diaper bag I can just convert it anytime!
This is what it looks like inside the bag. As you can see there are no compartments whatsoever, but big enough to put all things in.

This is my lovely creation of the 'Portable bottle holder'. Here you can see that I can easily slot in all the bottles and it stays in place and will not toss and tumble in the bag.

On the reverse side, I add in some elastic to make it a slot easy to hold the diapers and wipes in place! LOL.
Now you can see how easily I slot in the portable bottle holder into the bag and convert the bag into a Diaper Bag! Viola! Well, I love this "Portable Bottle holder" don't you?
By the way, if you ever want to customized your bag and convert into a diaper bag... drop me a line. LOL!

Fairy Tutu!

I think this is the first ever hand sewn garment that I am making for my baby. It's a fairy tutu skirt. I love the pictures shown in the net that babies are waring tutu and it's super cute. So I decided to make one for girl girl as well. I have chose to make it in yellowish colour as most of the garments I buy are in pink. Too much pink is making me sick, so yellow is another good choice for me. Since I have this rubber duck theme going on so yellow might just fit in! Hah! So am looking forward to post a photo of my baby wearing it! Till then!

MooMoo Baby Sling

Oh Finally, I have finished this "Moo Moo Baby Sling". I was wondering whether to make a Mei Tai Baby Carrier or a Baby sling; then I decided that a Baby sling is easier to use so I make one myself. I know they are selling some in the market but I do not like the pattern and the colours so I thought I better make one that I like since there are so many fabrics lying aroung in the house. :P
Indeed it is not difficult to make and again I did some improvision by adding some padding around the edges. Took me a while to make it but I assure you it is not difficult to make at all. You can browse through the instructions from this webpage...baby sling patterns page by Handmade-Adelaide-Baby.com; I find the instructions useful when I make my baby sling, I hope you find it useful too. Well when my baby arrives I will post a photo with baby in it. LOL.

Zoo Blankie for Baby......

As you all know I am busy doing my projects.... this is another project for my Baby. It's a rainbow colour "Zoo Blankie" or quilt as most people call it. I manage to find the colourful animals pattern fabric in Ikea and I got lucky with the rainbow stripes fabric which I found in a local quilt store. I love the colours and the combination of patterns, it just suits don't you think so? While the main colour is still pink as it's a baby girl colour. I almost use the quilting method but I found out that it is too much work for me now; so I did some research and found this easy method which does not require much sewing. A tied baby quilt is good for me. You can find the methods in this website http://www.everythingsewing.net/babyquilt.htm
Of course I did some modification as I do not want the string to hang all out at the front of the blankie! :)

DingDing (Version1) - Rag doll

Been busy lately with my pet projects for my Baby girl. I have created a new rag doll named, "DingDing". She is a modification of Ruby dolls & Chibi dolls. You can view from this website - Make Your Own Baby Chibi Doll! by OneRedRobin. Well, I could not really find a rag doll that I like so I have decided to make my own.
This is a Chibi doll.............

This is a Ruby Doll.............

The pictures here are my own version of "DingDing". I have inserted some bells in it so it will make some 'ding ding' sound when you shake the doll. Lovely isn't it?

Hello Ducky!

I am currently making a few projects and one of it include making a felt ducky for my precious little one when she arrives! I have found out about this Kate Erback’s Hello Ducky which I love. As this is the first time I am making a felt dolly, I am really stunt by the results. LOL!
Well as you can see here, this is my handmade ducky! Impressive huh? I have change the design slightly and the colours too. Furthermore, I have inserted a bell in it so it will make a ringing sound when you shake the ducky! I plan to make a bigger one next time round if I have the time! If you want to try out this too you caqn click on the link and print out the template and make your own version! Till then...... :)
